The Lemon Skunk is all about selection. This addition to the
venerable skunk family is a cross between two skunks that
were selected especially for lemon characteristics. The special
Lemon mother was kept for over twenty years in Las Vegas,
Nevada. The skunk father was chosen in Holland, originally a
donation from Eddie, the man who was at the helm of one of
the oldest and most prestigious seed banks in Netherlands for
many years.
The Lemon Skunk is a sativa-indica hybrid with a slightly
higher sativa ratio. It has sativa-hybrid characteristics, growing
tall but with a high calyx-to-leaf ratio, making it easy to trim.
The structure of the plant tends to be open, but can get
somewhat bushy, so it works best as a multi-branch plant.
Lemon Skunk fares well with moderate to heavy nutrients and
doesn’t mind the heat. The leaves are a medium to lighter
green with medium to slender sativa style leaflets, and the
buds also stay light green and form a profusion of orange hairs.
At finish, this bud is dewy with crystalline resin. The Lemon
Skunk strain takes 8–9 weeks to finish, but reaches its apex of
sweetness if cut down between 50 and 56 days.
Lemon Skunk is a tasty sweet citrus bud for those who like a
fresh fruity stash. The enjoyable sativa-leaning high boosts the
senses, bringing on thoughtful reflection and heightened
sensory perception. It may also boost the sense for a need to go
spelunk through the fridge for some munchies. Fans of the
fresh-citrus end of the cannabis flavor palate will understand
why Lemon Skunk has won multiple awards, including a cup at
Spannabis and a first place win for outdoor at the Highlife in
2007.
