Haze strains have a loyal fan base, and with good reason.
Hazes are known for their smooth transition into a soaring
lucid, cerebral, and extraordinarily euphoric high. The main
downside with Haze is horticultural. Faststarting, tall and
willowy plants, Hazes are known to have long flowering times,
taking as long as 3 or 4 months in the flowering phase before
ripening. In addition, the bolting size of the Haze has to be
carefully managed as does its finicky response to conditions.
Even when conditions are managed perfectly, these plants still
often deliver lower than average yields. When breeders try to
improve the gardening characteristics, it often comes at the
expense of losing some of the haze effect in the high.
Dutch Passion’s answer for the haze enthusiast is the Dutch
Haze strain. This mostly sativa, all-haze variety was developed
from Dutch Passion’s extensive genetic seed bank and network
of breeding expertise. Breeders grew out hundreds of plants,
crossing top North American and European haze strains, and
then subjecting them to a lengthy, discerning selection process
to create a Haze that finishes faster with improved yields, but
doesn’t compromise the true haze high.
Like most hazes, Dutch Haze is still best suited to indoor or
greenhouse grows, but the flowering time has been
considerably reduced, finishing after 9–11 weeks of flowering
or at the beginning of November in greenhouse gardens. Dutch
Haze plants are robust, with good resistance to mold and
spider mites, allowing gardeners to cultivate with greater
success than most hazes. However, they still have a tendency
to get large, and require size management. This strain yields
400g to 500g per square meter, even with the shorter
flowering phase. This is a generous crop by sativa standards
and a boon for haze gardeners.
The Dutch Haze high captures all of the uplifting intensity
that haze enthusiasts crave. The smoke is rich and smooth with
the distinct herbal flavors and smells of Haze perfuming the air
with its incense. The movement into the high is a seamless
experience in which everyday stresses seem to fade into the
background and a heightened joyous awareness of living floods
the senses. Gardeners who love Haze will recognize the
genuine haze high, and also have a more gratifying experience
during the growing process.
