The Critical #47 is a 50/50 hybrid whose name is also half-andhalf, taking “Critical” from the mother breed and “#47” from the AK father. The mother Critical strain is an Afghani Skunk
cross. The father is an AK-47 with genetics from Mexico,
Colombia, and India. Critical #47 develops quickly and realizes
its complete genetic potential when grown in soil outdoors.
Critical Mass and AK-47 improve on Skunk varieties and in
their cross, the skunky flavor increases.
This variety grows vigorously and branches prodigiously,
forming many extremely serrated leaves. Critical #47 reaches
a medium-tall height. Two weeks of vegetative time is sufficient
to allow plants to take root, and vegetating much longer may
result in oversized stalks. For those interested in clones,
Critical #47 is ideal because a great number of cuttings can be
taken from its branchy structure.
Positronics recommends pruning after the third week of
flowering to better direct the enormous potential that this plant
shows. The green flowers give off a strong smell between
mango and peach, with hints of vanilla. Organic fertilizers
allow this plant to form healthy and flavorful buds. Critical #47
finishes flowering after 7 weeks. Outdoors, these plants show
signs of maturity during August and can typically be harvested
by the end of September.
Critical #47 plants should be supported since the weight of
the floral bunches will overpower the slender stalks During
growth, this variety does not require large amounts of
fertilizer, but turns yellow quickly if it is suffering from an NPK
nutritional deficiency, making basic nutrient needs easy to
detect. When grown near curious neighbors or in stealth indoor
systems, an odor control system such as carbon filtering is a
necessity—without some precautions, Critical #47 emits
telltale olfactory evidence of its presence.
At maturity, this plant reaches an average height of 5 feet
(1.5 meters) and delivers yields that range from ½ to 1 pound
(250–500g) per plant. The Critical #47 buzz is calm with lucid
sativa influences and a touch of the munchies. In terms of
taste, this variety is a skillful blend of two sweet varieties that
deliver a fruity mango-peach flavor infused with vanilla
overtones.
